Our story

Built from the frustration of not having the right tool

Canine Insights started with a simple observation: there's a significant gap between what behaviour science actually knows about dogs and what most owners have practical access to.

Every week, dog owners were struggling with the same problems — reactive walks, restless evenings, unpredictable behaviour — armed with generic advice that didn't account for their individual dog. The tools to help them existed in the research. They just weren't accessible.

So I built one.

"The science of canine stress physiology, trigger stacking and sleep research has advanced significantly. Most owners just don't have access to it in a practical, daily form. Canine Insights exists to close that gap."

I have a degree in animal behaviour and a reactive dog. That combination — professional knowledge and daily lived experience — is what shaped every decision in this product.

When my own dog started showing reactivity on walks, I had the theoretical framework to understand what was happening. What I didn't have was the practical tool to track it day-to-day, identify the patterns, and make better decisions in real time. I looked for something that combined daily logging, pattern recognition and personalised guidance. It didn't exist.

Canine Insights is in early access. I'm building carefully, with a small group of real users giving honest feedback. The goal isn't to be the biggest dog app — it's to be the most genuinely useful one.

What we believe

The principles that shape every feature and every piece of content on this site.

📊

Behaviour is driven by patterns

Not individual moments. Without tracking, the cause is invisible.

🐕

Every dog is an individual

Generic advice has limits. Individual data is the only thing that doesn't.

🧠

Understanding replaces punishment

When you understand what's driving behaviour, you prevent it rather than correct it.

🔬

Science first, always

Every recommendation aligns with modern research and veterinary guidelines.

💚

Data builds empathy

When you see your dog's stress load in data, you stop asking "why" and start asking "what do they need?"

🛡️

Force-free, no exceptions

Canine Insights will never recommend or support aversive training methods.
