What data we collect
Account data: When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you choose to provide.
Dog profile data: Information you enter about your dog — including name, breed, age — and the daily logs you record: sleep quality, stress signals, activity, triggers and recovery scores.
Usage data: Anonymous data about how you use the app — which features you use, how often you log, general navigation patterns. This data cannot be used to identify you.
Payment data: If you subscribe to Premium, payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card details.
How we use your data
We use your data solely to provide and improve Canine Insights. Specifically:
- To generate your dog's recovery score, insights and daily recommendations
- To identify patterns in your dog's behaviour data over time
- To send you relevant communications about your account (you can opt out at any time)
- To improve the app based on anonymised usage patterns
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for any purpose other than providing you with Canine Insights.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use reputable cloud infrastructure providers who are contractually bound to protect your data. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access a copy of all data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate data
- Delete your data and account at any time
- Export your data in a portable format
- Opt out of non-essential communications

Cookies
The Canine Insights website uses minimal cookies — only those necessary for the site to function correctly. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. Analytics, if used, are anonymised and aggregated.
Third parties
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate Canine Insights — including payment processing and cloud infrastructure. Each is bound by contractual data protection obligations. We do not sell or share your personal data with any third party for their own purposes.
Children
Canine Insights is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it immediately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or via the app. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
